Nestled in the scenic Butternut Valley, Giermindl's Old Bavarian Restaurant is a true culinary gem that captures the essence of Bavarian cuisine. Customers have repeatedly raved about the restaurant's commitment to quality, showcasing locally sourced ingredients cultivated on their family farm. The grand brunch experience, with a vast array of dishes—from tantalizing German sausages to crispy schnitzel—has left patrons like Jason Kennedy in awe, particularly highlighting the generous all-you-can-eat portions. Many diners, such as Jessica Moore, have praised the beautiful outdoor patio that provides a picturesque backdrop for meals. The standout cauliflower soup is just one example of the delightful dishes that await. Meanwhile, the variety of sausages and schnitzels are executed with precision, ensuring every bite bursts with flavor. Though some reviews note that service can be a bit slow, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes up for it. The sheer abundance of food means sharing or partial orders are encouraged, especially for those with heartier appetites. The desserts, from the beloved apple strudel to the rich Black Forest cake, beckon diners to extend their experience. Giermindl's is not just a meal; it’s a celebration of Bavarian culture that compels guests to return time and again, making reservations a necessity for this bustling dining destination.

This is an all around amazing restaurant. We enjoy ourselves every time we go. Everything is local from their family farm. Last weekend was their grand opening for the season and we went for their once a year brunch. The service is awesome, the food is outstanding as always. Very large portions and it was all you can eat. The brunch came with a desert as well for 38. The plate had German sausage, schnitzel, pan fried hash browns, potato pancakes, bacon, quiche, pasta salad, and a croissant. My only complaint was that the bacon could have been a bit crispier

We sat on their patio and enjoyed the sunset while we ate dinner. Such a gorgeous location! The soup of the day was a cauliflower soup and it’s one of the best soups I’ve had in New Brunswick. It was our first time, and we drove up from Saint John so I was an absolute glutton and ordered the cabbage roll starter and half and half schnitzel dinner. The cabbage rolls were delicious and the schnitzel was perfection. Sadly, I did not have room for dessert - but I’m sure that would have been great as well. The service was fantastic.

I have had the pleasure of dining here 3 times now and have never been disappointed. Everything is raised or grown on their farm. The bread basket, soups and salads are amazing and so are the entrees. The staff are warm and welcoming. The service is a bit slow but quality takes time. The portions are very generous, so much so that as a senior I request a half-portion which they will do, despite it not being on the menu. It is out of the way, but a scenic drive. Just call first, because depending on the season, their hours and days of operation can vary.

Food was amazing! Service was great! We had the variety of sausages as an appetizer, the complimentary breads were delicious as well as the soup, for our mains we had the Jager schnitzel and mushroom schnitzel. No room left for dessert lol.Definitely need a reservation as the people keep coming although there were seats available outside where we sat. Cant wait to go back to try out more of the menu.

A hidden gem indeed! Worth the drive, such a great experience. The staff are so friendly, the food was amazing. Portions are very big and very filling so keep that in mind when ordering, we ordered two apps and two mains and it was far more food than we could ever eat (comes with complimentary bread and soup of the day when you get mains). Some prices seem like they're on the high end when you look at the menu but portion sizes are congruent. Very busy so make a reservation to be safe!

An absolutely fantastic place, especially if you are looking for that authentic Bavarian experience. A very wide array of dishes including some vegetarian options. I think most, if not all, of the meat comes from their own butcher shop next door. They even have some Bavarian inspired beers on tap. Kids are most welcome and accommodated. We went with a 4 month old and a four year old. Make sure you leave some time not only for dessert, but time to rest your eyes on the wonderful vistas of the local countryside. Absolutely gorgeous. Make sure you plan your trip well as they are only open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The building itself is a wonder to behold and worth a bit of sneak-around before or after dinner to see all of the little treasures on walls, pillars, and tucked in the most unlikely spots.

So much amazing food. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and fantastic at their jobs. There was always laughter in the background; in my opinion everyone seemed to really enjoy working there (something you see less frequent in the restaurant business). Would call it an experience more than just a meal. Great selection of wines, and the portions of food were massive. Everything tasted unique and wonderful. Will be eating there again.

I had an outstanding dining experience at Giermindl’s Old Bavarian Restaurant. I ordered the roasted pork hock and the sausage platter, both of which were exceptionally flavorful and authentic. The pork hock was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy on the inside, complemented beautifully by sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The sausage platter featured a great selection of sausages, each with its own distinct taste, making it an excellent pairing with a traditional German beer. The restaurant’s cozy, Bavarian-style ambiance and attentive service further enhanced the experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic German dining experience!
